The gracious love that has been shown to us by God in the Lord Jesus naturally flows into a desire for us to serve God as we serve others. Below are some current opportunities to serve at Church by the Bridge. How can you serve?
This year, before our 5pm and 6.45pm services we will be having a time of coffee and nibbles. We have a coffee machine, but need people to make the coffee. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Hayley Neal.
Community Lunches take place in our church hall every six weeks. They are a great opportunity to enjoy a tasty meal and chat to locals. There are two opportunities to serve at Community Lunches - you can help set-up, cook and serve food; and you can come along eat food and enjoy conversations! A women’s Connect Group meets on Tuesday mornings in Kirribilli, and many of the women who attend have young children. A creche is provided to enable the women to study without distraction. Volunteers are required to join a roster to provide this creche. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Anna Smith.
One-off fitness activities have taken place over the last couple of years - for example, boot camp mornings and an exercise session followed by an evangelistic talk. We’d like to continue to expand this fitness outreach in our local community. If you would like to get involve in this ministry, please contact Hayley Neal.
Our chief (and only!) church gardener has moved overseas, and we are in need of volunteers to tend the small garden out the front of the church. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Robyn Greenaway.
As a church we value quality design in our printed and online communications. We desire for our communications to be engaging (not boring) and relevant (to appeal to those within our church, and in the broader community). Our church has some super-talented graphic and web designers, but more are always welcome! There is also a need for photographers and those with video filming and editing skills. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Steve Kryger.
Kids Church is a ministry to the children of our church, with games, Bible teaching, craft and more, during the 9.45am church service. Kids Church leaders serve week in, week out most weeks of the year. During school holidays, Kids Church leaders take a well-earned break. There is a need for volunteers to serve on a roster for Kids Church during school holidays. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Mark Smith.
Playtime is a weekly playgroup for children aged 0-5 years. Playtime runs on Thursdays mornings 9:30-11:30am during school term. Volunteers are needed to assist at Playtime - and you don’t need to be a parent! If you’d like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Kate Jones or Steph Menear for more information.
We use PowerPoint to project the song words and other content during our weekend services. We need people to join the roster to sit at the desk and move through the slides during services. There is an urgent need for helpers at the 9.45am, 5pm and 6.45pm services. If you would like to get involved in this ministry, please contact Robyn Greenaway.
